Responsible for overseeing all instrumentation and data acquisition, including high speed imaging. Additionally, my team supports vehicle and subsystem instrumentation preparation, test execution, and post-test tear-down as dictated by test priorities. Active/Passive safety, reliability test, durability, crash, component, shock/vibe, and other section support as required. As the sole Instrumentation and Imaging team at Tesla we are not limited to "Vehicles" but the full gambit of Tesla productions.

Performed duties as Senior Technician for the team. Functions included but were not limited to board level component placement, enclosure design and build, unit level build and documentation, unit EOL testing, test procedure development, harness build, rack build/layout, and other duties as required. Perform duties as interim Lab manager as well conducting IQC testing (Internal Quality Control).

In this position I work as a member of Tesla’s Vehicle Test Group to acquire data from test activities to support data management and analysis for vehicle and component test activities performed in-house and at external test sites. The primary objective of my role is to work alongside the instrumentation application engineer / technician, define the most appropriate instrumentation set ups in order to obtain the correct level of data output, and process the data to produce meaningful results.I also support the test team in concern and database management, to ensure good visibility of concern and test status with relevant KPIs.Responsibilities• Install, verify, document, and maintain sensors and data acquisition as required for vehicle and rig based tests; including accelerometers, potentiometers, pressure/force transducers, thermocouples, timing instruments, and strain gages• Operate cameras, computers, diagnostic equipment, electrical meters, hand tools, power tools; including tweezers, soldering iron, amp/ohm/volt meter, oscilloscope, and microscope• Design, build, and calibrate custom load/torque sensing devices per test requirements.• Maintain calibration program to ensure that all tests are conducted with the highest quality of data that is provable and repeatable.• Complete projects independently from technical verbal/written instructions, schematics, or drawings with a readiness to complete tasks that are within ability• Assist in assembly, setup, operation, repair and maintenance of test equipment, vehicles, and rigs• Perform preventative, corrective, and emergency maintenance toward 100% data integrity• Support development/modifications/repair of DC circuit and signaling devices, prototype concepts, building wiring harnesses, and pin/de-pin connectors• Conduct tests independently following developed test procedures.
