With over three decades of service, Mr. Amerson is a leading expert in procurement, particularly in international development. His career at USAID has seen him take on pivotal roles in some of the world's most challenging regions, including Haiti, Ethiopia, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. As a Procurement Subject Matter Expert, he has personally awarded over $330 million in direct contracts to USG recipients.In Pakistan, Mr. Amerson managed a $338 million portfolio at the U.S. Embassy in Islamabad, focusing on rebuilding communities and reducing extremism along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. He also shaped acquisition policies to strengthen financial assessments for U.S. government-funded recipients. At the U.S. Embassy in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, he directed acquisition and assistance activities, handling a $1.6 billion portfolio. His work supported five major Presidential Initiatives, advancing health services, education, and resilience-building projects, while recovering over $6 million in unused funds.In Afghanistan, Mr. Amerson managed a $600 million portfolio at the U.S. Embassy in Kabul, overseeing infrastructure projects. His achievements include awarding a $500 million Task Order to a U.S. Women-Owned Business and resolving infrastructure claims, saving the U.S. government over $71 million.Mr. Amerson's career highlights include surviving several earthquakes, car bomb explosions and hostility following the capture of Osama Bin Laden. Through all he made a profound impact using his expertise in procurement and leadership while fostering development and stability in some of the world's most challenging environments. He is a disabled veteran of the U.S. Army and a graduate of the U.S. Army Ranger School.
