About Anthony Edwards

I have over 20 years of experience in working with diverse populations in various settings, such as alternative schools, adoption agencies, and correctional facilities. My core competencies include mental health, case management, leadership, and communication. I am passionate about helping people overcome their challenges and achieve their goals, and I believe that every person deserves a chance to grow and thrive. I am currently a Correctional Treatment Specialist at Franklin County Jail, where I provide treatment services, individually and in group settings, for 50 inmates. In my role, I collaborate with other agencies to meet the needs and services of inmates as they prepare to reintegrate into the community. I also investigate and assist in resolving inmate complaints, and use an automated internet-based Offender Management System to access and update information about the inmates. I am a member of the Re-entry Team and the Jail Diversion Committee, where I use the Ohio Risk Assessment System-Prison Intake Tool (ORAS-PITT) to assess the risk and need factors of the inmates and develop treatment and re-entry plans for them. I also co-facilitate Cognitive Based Therapy (CBT) groups and a trauma and addictions men’s group based on the Seeking Safety curriculum. Through these programs, I help inmates reassess their thinking patterns, cope with their trauma and substance use, and prepare for their transition back to society.
