My portfolio consists of 320 accounts based in Manchester, Nottingham and Rotherham. My role is to retain and develop existing customers using my knowledge of City Link’s products and services. Through building relationships I have grown the range of services City Link provides to the customers in my portfolio. This has been achieved by understanding the share of the business we currently possess and offering additional services tailored to their individual needs and expectations.I ensure that each of my 320 accounts gets the correct level of support. This requires careful planning on my part. I have developed a systematic approach which ensures that each of my accounts is contacted at least every six weeks and those accounts at high risk are contacted weekly. I prioritise my workload to ensure that the customer receives the highest possible level of service while consistently exceeding targets.

I began at Virgin Media as a coach. My role included running the academy for new starters and the coaching and development of other staff to assist colleagues in achieving their performance management targets. I acquired an insight into managerial duties through acting as a seconded team manager covering for other managers during maternity leave and long-term sickness. In this time, I was responsible for a team of 15-20 people. I conducted Performance Management meetings, updated sickness and absence reports, collated the daily and month to date team statistics, as well as arranging and conducting one to one meetings and coaching sessions with team members.

I began as a Customer Relations Advisor where my main duties included retaining customers on their contracts, offering quality, efficiency and satisfaction to customers by meeting their needs. After three years I progressed to a Team Coach, within the outbound customer relations team. I was responsible for the training and development of a twenty strong team, ensuring that they maintained their knowledge, training, skills and confidence in all aspects of customer relations.Fifteen months later I was promoted to Customer Relations Community Coach. My duties included working within a team of four responsible for monitoring the performance of over 100 staff, identifying any performance issues and providing assistance and training where necessary. I was responsible for providing appraisal feedback, giving team briefings and rolling out training for any new products, services and systems, liaising with senior management to implement changes effectively.

I worked as a fully trained telecommunications operator, within an 8 man detachment, responsible for the day to day running of a communications facility. This included establishing and maintaining telecoms and using data communications such as VHF, HF and SATCOM.
