Working with Aboriginal ranger groups and communities towards regional, sustainable and long term land and sea management aspirations.Building community capacity through Healthy Country Panning (Open Standards Planning) and diving deeper into the establishment of BioCultural indicators.

As we travel, I am collecting stories about peoples connection with the land with a particular focus of how they perceive or manage fire in the area where they live or work. I intend these stories to culminate in a book on perceptions of fire management around Australia in the next year and a half. I feel that these stories don't get out enough and that broader understanding of fire management practices across the Australia would be beneficial to land owners and managers. I have recorded 30 odd stories since leaving Darwin in Sept 2016.

I am currently travelling around Australia with my family in a camper trailer, showing the kids this amazing country of ours. I am also collecting stories on Australians perception of fire and fire management whihc I intend to collate into a book in the coming 12 months.

This project culminated in the publication of the book: To burn or not to Burn - perceptions of fire management around Australia.

Primary Objectives:1. Co-ordinate, communicate and assist with development and implementation of Territory Natural Resource Management's (TNRM) project initiatives and activities in the Top End region.2. Provide leadership and support in order to increase the level and effectiveness of stakeholder involvement in regional NRM activities through the delivery of Australian Government funding programs and other NRM initiativesKey Responsabilities:1. Contribute to the development of an effective coordinator network and liaise with stakeholders for the delivery of regionally-focused NRM programs.2. Build partnerships, identify needs and opportunities, and function as a conduit of information between stakeholders for their region and between regions. Stakeholders include TNRM's board, Australian and NT Governments, local NRM groups, Indigenous groups, community, industry, education and research providers.3. promote and communicate the outcomes and performance measures of funding programs and assist in the development, delivery and monitoring, evaluation, reporting and improvement of funding programs and other initiatives as required as a representative of the TNRM.4. Assist in the development of promotion of TNRM to increase its capacity to meet institutional, community and business expectations.

Support community indigenous ranger groups achieve natural resource management outcomes and build capacity to carry out cost recovery contracts.

• Creation of DPI Risk assessment plan prior to formal EMP.• Risk Assessment of Environmental and Heritage Issues.• Writing of Environmental Management Plans (EMP’s) and Notices of Intention prior to tender.• Liaison/facilitation of objectives with stakeholders, AAPA, EHA and other Government and non-Government agencies.
