Anthony Lauer has been serving as the Online Learning Coordinator for Ann Arbor Public Schools since 2012. Anthony taught high school mathematics during the 12 years preceding his current position in both traditional and online settings. He received his BS in Education with Honors from the University of Michigan in 2000, his Masters in Secondary Education from Eastern Michigan University in 2005, and his K-12 School Administrator Certificate in June 2022. Throughout his career, his focus has been on using online tools and resources to engage students and differentiate instruction effectively. This focus has led him to develop and lead professional development for teachers, emphasizing online and blended learning strategies. In 2013, he led a team that developed and defined the A2 Virtual+ program. This program offers online courses to students from public schools in grades K-12. His primary focus is to support teachers and students as they use online spaces and tools to learn synchronously and asynchronously. His responsibilities include system management, curriculum alignment, communication, and teacher training.
