If something doesn't exist, I make it. If something isn't working, I fix it. If something is working, I make it better. I am just your everyday former visual arts instructor who became a taproom manager/events planner for a craft brewery who then worked for a technology/marketing services agency that is now an instructional designer. My communication skills have enabled me to speak with everyone from bright-eyed second graders to jaded teenagers; from oddball artists to millionaire CEOs. My unique combination of learning and development, design, and technical writing skills have helped me to evolve into the professional that I am today. My creativity has always been my strongest skill, as it fuels my critical thinking and problem solving. From the world of education to the private sector, it has served me well. My ability to think outside the box, diagnose issues, and help others improve their ideas have helped me to be successful in every work environment I’ve been in. Sometimes those with large imaginations are dismissed as daydreamers, people who waste their time talking about what could be but never will be because they lack the discipline to make it so. I am not one of those people. I’ve always had the ability to plan and see my projects through until I meet my own or my team’s goals. I love working with people and helping those around me realize their goals or to learn new skills. I can communicate with others easily via either the spoken or written word. I am as comfortable speaking to a person one-on-one as I am addressing a room or writing a press release. My ability to understand the current trends in social media allow me project an idea that can be heard from continents away. I am always driven to find new mountains to climb. I am comfortable with being uncomfortable. I don’t fear change; I face it head on, always willing to learn something new.
