About Anthony Mcmahon Lib Qfa

My approach to any role I hold is to be friendly enthusiastic and have the flexibility to adapting to various situations. When I do encounter problems, I strive to find solutions, which are acceptable for all sides involved. This can involve taking guidance/direction from another team member. I’m always looking to streamline and improve any situation I find myself in.Outside work I enjoy running and spending time in the outdoors, walking, cycling and taking pictures with my camera. I'm an active member of a local running club, even winning medals at a National level. I've run 4 marathons, setting myself a goal to run one in under 3 hours, which I succeeded at in 2019. This involved developing a SMART training plan to fit around work and having the drive and determination to stick to no matter how hard it seemed to get. I always look to streamline and improve any employment position I occupy. I have a firm belief that proper preparation and punctuality are essential for success in anything.

Loan Administration Associate

Current

Dublin, Leinster, Ireland

With Mount Street I started off working on the Shipping team, before moving seamlessly over to the CRE team in December 2020. On this team we looked after updating the internal accounting system, Credit Hub. Each morning, we would need to check the bank accounts to see if loan payments were made, then apply these payments to the corresponding loan accounts in Credit Hub. It also required generating and distributing Interst Notices to advise Borrowers and Leners of the Interest, Amoritazation and fees due.In my current role, I work on the CRE team looking after the administrative duties on various loan portfolios. We deal with a list of major banks and investment funds, as an intermediary ensuring the investments run smoothly. Calculating interest and fees on various types of Commercial loans held all over the world. These involve syndicated loans with multiple lenders and borrowers. Loans are in various currencies and using different interest rates e.g. Euribor and Sonia. We also make loan payments using various different banking platforms. I issue rate in interst notices and follow up on queries on accounts and payments from both borrowers and lenders. To do this I need to communicate through email and by phone, while keeping our internal systems up to date. I have kept all my professional qualifications gained through the IOB up to date.

Bank Official

Aib

Head Office Locations

I am QFA qualified and have the Professional Certificate in Lending to Professionals, Self-Employed and Micro SMEs, through the Institute of Banking which is an NVQ level 8 Qualification. This involves studying Credit Risk Management techniques and Relationship management. Currently I play a key role in Corporate Operations looking after the Corporate and GB loan books with a value of some €20 billion. A high level of accuracy is required from me, due to the volume and amount of transactions we process. With a loan book valued at €20 billion any errors can directly affect the liquidity of the bank. While on the eMortgages team I assessed applications before they were sent onto a lender for a decision, , ensuring they were within regulatory requirements, (e.g. LTI, LTV). I exercised extreme vigilance when checking documents to ensure their authenticity, cross checking them with a separate independent source. I have gained experience in end to end to processes in various areas such as: Hire Purchase, Leasing, Personal Loans, Mortgages and EBS, as well as with Personal banking products. I have played a key role in the team by continually delivering on SLA’s. One time whilst on the Branch service desk I took responsibility in developing a call logging tool. Through very careful analysis of call data I played my part in achieving the team goal of reducing calls by 15%. While working on the Branch Support line, I proactively organised meetings with senior management from Home Mortgage Operations so we could discuss issues. These meetings were about keeping and open line of discussion between our two areas and improving the over efficiency and service we offered. I managed to build relationships, which are still valuable to me today.

Swimming Pool Manager

Tallaght Leisure Centre

While in this position my main responsibility was to ensure the centre ran in a smooth efficient manner while on duty. Included were staffing levels, water quality and dealing with various situations, which may arise during the day to day running.• I drafted up a set normal operating procedures and emergency action plan, (which are still in use). These outlined all aspects of normal pool operation and what to do in the event of an emergency.•I also designed and set up a programme for swimming lessons, which consisted of 15 stages, from complete beginners through to experienced lane swimmers. •My duties also included managing swimming pool timetables and bookings. Some of my achievements were, bringing in Special Olympics Ireland to use the pool on a Sunday morning. I also introduced new initiatives to increase public pool use e.g. discounted swims for pensioners. •I was also responsible for continued staff training. This was to ensure all staff qualifications were kept up to date as per continued professional development.

Sep 2006 - Mar 2007

Bank Official

Lower Baggot Street Branch

In this position I was working in the accounts department of the Baggot Street branch. My responsibilities included:•High value same day funds inter-bank transfers. These needed to be processed by 12.30pm each day, with all relevant checks done i.e. signatures and sufficient funds present to meet request. •Cheque verification. Each day a number of cheques where sent for signature verification, this would involve checking that the cheques where signed in accordance with the mandate held on file. •I was required to answer phone calls from customers, dealing with their queries and requests. This sometimes required dealing with non-standard queries, which would require investigation and problem solving.•I also spent time working on the cash desk dealing directly with customers and processing their transactions. When I moved into the back office I provided lunch cover on the cash desk.
