Brisbane City Backpackers is a busy hostel in the heart of Brisbane city. I worked here for just over a year while on a working holiday visa in Australia. My role included all front of house duties after the main reception had closed for the night. It was a unique hostel in the city because it had a fully licensed bar on the premises.Duties and Responsibilities:• Opening/Closing main reception • Processing late arrivals and early checkouts.• Providing information to guests about the local nightlife and day trips in the area.• Assisting the bar manager at EON to clear guests from the bar and lock-up.• Dealing with cases of misconduct in a courteous and professional manner.• Overseeing Incident reports and backing up CCTV footage when needed.• Dealing with customer complaints• Reporting to the general manager

The Black Box is a live music venue and is the sister venue to the town hall theatre. While primarily a music venue, it also hosted stand-up comedy and drama. I worked there on a part-time basis while attending college.
