-Daily organising and supervision of workers -Coordinating and scheduling of workers in different teams -Adhering to safety practices and procedures -Maintain paperwork i.e. timesheets to submit -Make sure that machinery and vehicles goes for the required services -Checking all prestart documents for vehicles and machinery condition -Conduct prestart meetings every day, to plan and allocate workers -Make sure that all workers is WOC before operating machinery -Do safety checklist on work front -Conduct regular inspection of the site -Do rail spotting for BGC level 2 -Loading and unloading of vehicles - Dogman -Working closely with surveying staff for different types of groundwork -Check and do bunting and flagging of work areas, make sure that the necessary signs are in place -Operates various machines and vehicles; Trucks, Posy, Excavator, Light vehicles and driving a 16 seat bus to carry workers to and from work site

-Primary Function is to perform first-line supervisory work involved in the construction, maintenance and repair of maintained roads and property.-Supervise and coordinates workers-Maintain records of road construction, and repair activities -Monitors reports filed by workers for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to policy and procedure guidelines-Instructs personnel in departmental policies, procedures and techniques-Provides and recognizes additional training in the safe operation and servicing of required equipment, tools and materials in assigned area and methods and techniques of road construction, maintenance and repair.-Determines best course of action in the completion of assignments including setting priorities; estimating number of hours to complete assignments; labour required; necessary materials, equipment and supplies.-Conduct prestart meetings every day and maintaining the project diary.-Keep the various permits up to date if required by workers and sub contractors; i.e.Penatration and Hot permits-Do inspections on sub contractors vehicles and plant equipment to make sure they are site compliant.-Checks progress of assignments, verifying adherence to assignment requirements and determining quality of work performed by assigned personnel.-Determines proper and efficient usage of materials, equipment, and hand and power tools by subordinates in the performance of their assignments.-Selects and orders required materials and supplies in accordance with established purchasing procedures. Determines and recommends additional equipment and tools-Prepares complete, accurate and timely reports, records and logs.-Operates and utilizes various hand and power tools and equipment (light to heavy)-Adheres to and enforces safety practices and procedures in work areas-Cleans, maintains and services required equipment and tools-Inspects and maintains an adequate supply of materials, equipment and tools required to fulfil work assignments.
