Local lead mechanical design engineer in Seattle Washington. My main focus is on custom built marine grade cranes. Our standard is to design and build cranes to API 2C and ABS specifications. We build for fisherman, research projects, government projects, LNG barges, wharfs and many others. Our customers are both domestic and international. I also work with a variety of marine deck equipment including winches, davits, capstans, HPUs, tow pins, etc. I have worked my way up from a draftsman into a lead engineering role. In addition to my previous duties, I have the responsibility of approving cost analyses, overseeing project/time management, working closely with manufacturing and testing, customer communication, and executive decision making.

My main responsibility was to model and draft drawings for production. My main focus was on marine grade cranes designed and built to customer specifications. We design and manufacture the majority of the crane in house. I gained knowledge in engineering practices, GD&T, manufacturing, welding, and fabrication. It is vital to know how products are built in order to have a tangible and feasible design that can go from a computer model into a physical product.

University Of Portland

I was available to tutor students in 100 to 300 level math courses at the University of Portland Math Resource Center (MRC). I helped students to understand confusing or new concepts that need an extra explanation to fully understand the material. I provided students with help on homework assignments or additional studying resources.

Greater Seattle Area

I handled data entry as well as CAD modeling for cranes and winches to be machined and built in house. Additionally, I created BOMs and revised drawings and models with redlines.

Shiley School Of Engineering

I worked in conjunction with a senior undergraduate student and biomedical graduate student on a Parkinsonian hand tremor project. We researched and designed two passive mechanical devices that would, in theory, cancel out a patient's hand tremor due to Parkinson's Disease. We conducted many hours of in-lab testing as well as human subject testing.

Started as an office services worker, which delivered and retrieved physical files for attorneys or legal assistants. There were thousands of files to keep organized and tracked in order to not lose them throughout the office. I was then trained on patent proofing after a month or so. I had to check the most recent patent that is waiting to be finalized for a certain case to make sure there were no errors or new updates for the specific patent. Any errors had to be reported to the attorney and fixed.
