The Bert Sugar Cigar is named after the late great boxing historian and boxing Hall of Famer Bert Randolph Sugar. He is not only known for being a legend in boxing, he’s also known for always smoking great cigars. Bert and I first met covering a fight in Las Vegas in 2003, and we became great friends over the years. Bert was a guest co-host with me on over 100 radio broadcasts on AM 1510. He was truly inspiring and a unique individual which is why I felt he needed a cigar line named after him. The Bert Sugar Cigar is comprised of a 5-tobacco blend. The filler is Nicaraguan, Honduran and Dominican. The Binder is Nicaraguan and the wrapper is Habano Seed grown in Ecuador. They are hand rolled using premium tobacco in Nicaragua. Came over to 1510 as Sporting News Radios Marketing Director in 2002. Handled all station marketing efforts including: website, billboard and tv campaigns featuring Sean McDonough, Bill Parcells, and The Boston Celtics, built radio studios at Fenway Park, and overall assisted in launching the station. Hosted afternoon drive from 2003 to mid 2005 on a show called The Diehards that featured Ryen Russillo (now with ESPN Radio) and Jon Anik (now working for The UFC). Broadcasted from 3 Superbowls on Radio Row.Also in 2003 started hosting The Mouthpiece Boxing Show and have covered over 60 Championship fights in Las Vegas, Atlantic City, Florida, and others. Worked with HBO, Showtime, ESPN. The Show currently airs nationally on Yahoo Sports Radio and is co hosted by Ron Borges.In 2005 became General Manager of WWZN now WUFC and continue to run the day to day operations.

Created Pepe and the Water Boys Event Team. Worked on over 500 events including '99 All Star Game, '99 Ryder Cup, Eddie Andelman's Hot Dog Safari. Instrumental in station guerrilla marketing efforts including Red Sox (K Cards/Flip Cards). Worked closely with sales department creating marketing partnerships targeted in beer and spirits categories.
