Infrastructure Engineer
Current• Participate in Infrastructure discussions related to Server and Environment Maintenance, Antivirus & Microsoft Firewall Best Practices, SQL Server Data Migrations, Replication Setup and Teardown, and Microsoft Product Compatibility.• Provide insight with RFP's, Provisioning Servers, Windows Patching, Virus & Malware Prevention, Backup Strategies, Disaster Recovery, and other Software Maintenance.• Help our clients’ setup Antivirus exclusions for products such as McAfee, Symantec, Microsoft System Center Forefront, Trend, Kaspersky, and ESET• Provide guidance to our customers on what versions of .NET, OS, IE, MS Office, Windows Server, and SQL Server work best with our software.• Help our clients determine the appropriate server specifications related to Processor, Memory, Disk Space, Ethernet Adapter, and SAN Storage to ensure proper hardware procurement. • Troubleshoot local network issues related to DNS, DHCP, ICMP, FTP, SMTP, HTTP, HTTPS, SSL, and, Telnet by using ping, tracert, Fiddler, pathping, and propriety network logs• Troubleshoot database issues by utilizing ODBC, SQL Server Profiler, sp_who2, sp_showblocks, DBCC inputbuffer (spid), DBCC outputbuffer (spid), DBCC OPENTRAN, KILL (spid), and DBCC checkdb (database).• Troubleshoot server issues by utilizing Component Services, Event Viewer, Task Manager, Performance Counters, and NLB manager • Work as the primary Infrastructure Engineer for third-party system integrations, which involve Web Services, XML, Soap Protocol, Windows Services, and Database Analysis.• Train internal and external clients on system Integration using GoToMeeting, WebEx, and GoToAssist.• Assist our clients with troubleshooting the application in relation to the Desktop, Servers, Database and Network.• Help manage a VMWare server lab running VSphere with a domain administered with Active Directory.• Quickly master new products and technologies and provide effective training and consultation to internal and external clients
