I am a trained chef, and cooking is my passion in life. I was an Airmen in the U.S. Air Force for a short period of time before being medically discharged. After that I was a chef for various restaurants including the Marriott International and Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. I went into the law enforcement field in 2008, and determined that this was a field that I held an interest in. I was a Deputy Sheriff for a few years, and then transferred into the Corrections Division. In the corrections field I have learned valuable lessons from the inmates that I have dealt with. Many of these lessons carry on with me throughout my everyday life. I know what to look for in my surroundings in order to keep myself and my family safer. I have also grown an interest in aiding the inmates in expanding their horizons beyond the statistics that are placed before them. I have noticed that crimes tend to take place in urban areas rather than in suburbia. Many times there are cycles within families that take place. In order for these trends to be broken there must be programs offered to the youth that will aid low income families with paying for summer camps or sports in order to give the kids a different perspective on what is expected. This may seem far fetched for this to happen, but in the long run it is necessary equation that needs to be solved.
