ANTHONY (TONY) B. ROSS, Sr. Tony is Internal Audit Manager at Austin Energy, the City of Austin's municipally owned electric utility. He has over thirty years of professional experience in the public, private, and government organizations. In addition, Tony is an Adjunct Professor at area colleges, teaching accounting and business courses for the past six years. He earned the MBA and the Graduate Certificate in MIS from St. Edward’s University, the Master in Accounting and Financial Management from DeVry University’s Keller Graduate School of Management, the BS in Management from Park University, and two Associate degrees from the Community College of the Air Force. He serves the City of Austin employees on the governing boards of both the Deferred Compensation Plan as well as the Employee Retirement System, where he chairs the Finance and Audit Committee. Tony, a TSCPA member since 1995, has served several leadership roles within the Austin TSCPA chapter, including chapter vice-president, chapter member-at-large, and chair of the chapter’s oversight committee. On the state level, he currently serves as a TSCPA state director and has served as Executive Secretary of the TSCPA. He has served the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy for five years on the Behavioral Enforcement, the Qualifications, and the CPE committees. An AICPA member since 1995, he serves on the AICPA Virtual Grassroots Panel. Tony served two years as Chair on the Austin Community College’s Accounting Advisory Committee; he is now in his seventh year of service. Tony is a Certified Internal Auditor and a member of both the Institute of Internal Auditors and the National Association of Black Accountants. Tony has been married for twenty-nine years to Linda. They have two children: Anthony Jr., living in Las Vegas, and Jessica, living in Austin.
