As a member of the PT Lab team I am trained and participate in the prep and testing of products critical to the manufacture of aircraft. Prep duties include; gathering raw sample blanks from various production centers and delivering them to the Lab, scribing (laying out) samples for various saw and shear operations, operation of various saw and shear equipment, use of CNC mills and lathes to produce final sample shapes for testing, entering sample information into computer data base.Testing duties involve, but are not limited to, the use of various testing equipment and machines to certify fracture toughness and fatigue properties of a variety of metal alloys. These processes involve the use of precision measuring tools and devices, as well as, entering test results into the computer data system.

I was the Lead Operator of a production group known as the Bedsaw Group. The group consists of 5 different production saws capable of cutting light gauge metal through ingot size metal. I am capable of performing the basic duties of a majority of the work group members and was able to restore flow by filling in for my work group members as needed.I coordinated work group activities, ensured proper equipment operation, and performed administrative work.Examples are; TPM coordination and support, facilitate metal movement, OEE tracking and end of shift call in/report.I also maintained radio communication as the Team contact and was the point of contact for the Testing Labs and Inspection, Pack, and Ship Department on traceability issues.

Saw Operators have a variety of duties. They have computer skills for entering work schedules as to what metal gets cut when, they process samples to be sent to the Labs and they run the production saws.
