Dean Of The College Of Arts & Sciences And Professor Of Biology & Biomedical Sciences
I served as a leader and mentor for the largest academic unit at Northern New Mexico College. My primary role was to provide advocacy and support for Arts & Sciences faculty in teaching, scholarship, research, and curriculum development. Importantly, we work with community schools and area youth to encourage educational aspiration and success. Another critical area of my assignment is to support faculty and staff in the acquisition and implementation of external funding to academic programs.As an emeritus professor I continue to teach courses in biology, evolution and ecology, and the biomedical sciences. My research interests are primarily in vertebrate evolutionary ecology with a particular interest on environmental and epigenetic influences on behavior and general phenotypic expression.
