Service EngineerHamworthy Combustion Mar 2009 - Dec 2012Home Based• Joined the power and process section at Hamworthy Combustion Ltd. Extensive product training has been received at Hamworthy. During this training I completed the BOSIET course for offshore working. I have travelled extensively around the world, working sometimes in remote locations with little or no facilities; I have worked in such countries and areas as the Sahara desert, India (on numerous occasions), Norway, Finland, Brazil, Singapore and Poland. The duties involve site supervision during installation, burner commissioning (some installations can be single burner or up to 576 burners on a single installation), and servicing of Hamworthy supplied equipment. The work is unsupervised and travel can be from 3 to 7 weeks. I am home based and when requested travel down to Hamworthy head office in Poole Dorset. -
Service EngineerMegtec Systems, Inc. Mar 2006 - Mar 2009Home BasedMy main duties with Megtec were again servicing and commissioning of Megtec thermal oxidisers. Duties also involved working on reels stands and flotation dryers for the news print industry. Duties included the set-up of discrete instruments, the interrogation of PLC programmes, and all electrical and mechanical checks. Unfortunately after some 4 years the anticipated extended overseas travel never really happened. Travel abroad did occur but the frequency and the duration was not as expected. With mutual agreement I left Megtec to join Hamworthy Combustion Ltd. Letter of reference received from Megtec.
