- Race Engine Builder - Production of GT3 & GT4 cars- Maintenace of customer cars

Worked in an extremely high pressure motorsport race team environment, in which I have developed priceless experience in race car preparation to a high level of standard.This involves complete strip-down, measurement and analysis, with detail and commitment to quality and cleanliness. Set up work including, geometry set up i.e. corner weighting, tracking and more such as camber and wing angles.Ability to diagnose, rectify and tune vehicle issues based on driver responses and basic data acquisition. Track side responsibilities in managing a number of race cars, drivers and mechanics following strict time management, carsetup and specific championship scrutiny. Experienced involvement working in series such as British GT, Ginetta GT5 Challenge and endurance series such as BritcarMSA Endurance and the 24H Series in Dubai and Barcelona. Taking a class win in Dubai 24H Complete team dedication travelling the world and helping construct garage and pit set ups prior to the events.

An early involvement and experience within the Universities Formula Student Team (in 2010) inspired me to fulfil a motorsport ambition as a career, which in turn pushed me to peruse a greater role in the team to further better myself and prepare me for the industry. My final Masters year, in which I graduated, saw my rise in position as a Team Leader, to design and build a single seat race car to compete with across Europe.Power-train Team Leader: Involving the design, manufacture and maintenance of the Power Plant of the Formula Student Vehicle.I was the Universities sole engine builder, taking responsibilities such as full engine strip – downs; for inspection, measurement, modification and rebuild. Installation and removal of engines from dyno test beds.Manufacturing Sub-Team Leader: The physical build of the vehicle involving the manufacturing pathway and production schedule.

Specialist race car builder, working both, on the new manufacture production line as well as end of season lease-hire returned cars.New build consisted of start to finish, bare chassis to completion production. Lease-Hire return, the complete overhaul of an end of season race car for new season track preparation, as well as working on Ginetta outfitters (customer ran cars) which were in need of repair, typically chassis damage or upgrade.

Learnt critical manufacturing pathways and procedures that enabled me to prevent component and project cost delays.Was given an appreciation of the major classes of a manufacturing system, their operating characteristics, equipment requirements and the associated economic implications (including design for economic manufacture). Developed a range of skills enabling me to understand the roles of an Engineer.Undertook the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) test needed to allow me to visit customer site locations. Was given the opportunity to demonstrate my own initiative in creating a structured and detailed health and safety risk assessments and method statements.
