The business model formed around small-town circumstances, often taking it in circles. Lots of issues. However, also a lot of reliable software. Over 100 installations were in use for 20+ years. Some of this software is still running after 25+ years because it includes valuable user-centric features that mainstream still does not have. These require a completely different processing paradigm than what mainstream is willing to do today. Granted, reinventing the wheel is costly, and that makes employer-searching a challenge.For this reason I am happy with simple IT work, web development, or other technical jobs, machine operation, etc. Just keeping the bills paid while I do my own creative work at home. That's what I'm looking for today.
