My name is Anthony Stevens, I am a recent graduate at University of Cincinnati as a Public Relations major with a Political Science minor. I am pursing a Master’s in Public Administration this Fall at University of Cincinnati. I will continue my education by pursing a PhD in Public Policy and Public Administration. I was raised in poverty in East Price Hill most of my life. I have witnessed the injustices happening with friends I grew up with. I believe the worker has been overlooked in the recent history of the United States and I have witnessed it firsthand in my youth. I help take care of my niece and nephew due to them not having an active father. I want to inspire them with the hope they might be able to achieve the American Dream no matter what financial situation they come from. I had the pleasure of working with BLOC Ministries to help build back the Price Hill community that I consider home. I hope I can one day get into politics to make positive change in the communities of Cincinnati. After working under the Vice Mayor of Cincinnati and seeing firsthand the nature of creating policy. I saw what real action for equity looks like. I have recently joined federal service with Office of Chief Financial Officer at the Environmental Protection Agency to continue helping are communities on a national level. I learned early on I wouldn’t be able to make change without first educating myself and getting experience on what real change looks like. I’m a reliable, teachable, dedicated individual with aspirations to change the inequality faced in low-income regions in this area. I grew up in poverty and worked my way here today.
