As such, staff have high knowledge levels in all things Apple, which is driven from an already existing interest in the brand.In October of 2014, I took on the role of Assistant Manager in our Dundrum branch. Further to my responsibilities in General Sales, I was now also responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the store. Duties in this role included day-to-day managing of staff, allocating members to tasks that best suited their abilities, and in some cases allocating staff that wish to learn new tasks when it best suited the store. I was also responsible for opening and closing the store, including cash and float management, as well as banking duties. Another aspects of this role showed further insight into how the company ran as a whole, allowing me to gain a better picture of how stock flowed through the company and from this was able to form a better picture of lead times for ordered stock. Being an Assistant Manager can also bring you in contact with customers who haven't necessarily had a good experience, be it with a staff member that has not responded to them positively (Usually leading to an investigation by myself and the General Manager, and subsequent follow-up with the staff member), or a customer that has higher expectations of our service than we are prepared to deliver. Occasionally we have customers that would expect a full service, training, and support centre for free, which is not something we can afford ourselves to provide. We do provide all of these services, but at a cost, as they cost us time and staff.
