I am currently an Industrial Engineering student at Purdue University. I have experience in 4 internships as a process and manufacturing engineer in the automotive, powersports, and aerospace industries. I am interested in exploring process/supply chain design, manufacturing, consulting, and organizational leadership development opportunities. When I approach a new situation or opportunity for change, I always ask myself, "If Not Me Then Who..." This mantra comes from Travis Manion, a fallen Marine, who spoke these words to justify his sacrifices in service. This mantra guides me on a daily basis, encouraging me to excel in my personal responsibility and integrity. I believe these traits are central to effective leadership, and by approaching problems by asking, if I do not take this mantle, who will be burdened, I am able to problem solve and lead with a more complete perspective. However, this mantra does not mean you must micromanage or try to take on every task yourself. The key is having a thorough understanding of where you and your team's skillsets, experiences, and abilities apply best, and using this information to ensure your team's goals are pursued by the most qualified and prepared person. Never should an obligation fall to someone who is unprepared because of a more prepared teammate refusing to follow through on their duties.
