Programmer

Tiertex Limited

Manchester, United Kingdom

At Tiertex I was employed to create new protection techniques to be used by US Gold for the Amiga, Atari ST, C64, etc. I was also given the opportunity to convert the arcade edition of Mercs to the Amiga and ST computers. As we were not provided with any code or graphics, I created a map editor that interfaced to hardware that could attach to and scan from the original arcade machine RGB video lines. Tiertex graphic artists then used this software/hardware to grab and recreate all the graphics and maps for all formats of the game.Mercs - scrolling shoot-em up (Amiga/Atari ST)Disk mastering protection formats for TRACE equipment (Amiga/ST/C64/CPC)Tape formats for 8-bits (C64/Spectrum)AME - map editor (Amiga)PutDisk - disk mastering system (Amiga/Atari ST)

Zippo Games Limited

I was originally employed at Zippo to create an art package for the soon to be released Nintendo trackball. Unfortunately, a few weeks into development the project was shelved. The next project was to convert the arcade version of Cabal to the Nintendo Famicom/NES for Rare and MB Games. As no original code or graphics were provided, I coded the game by recreating the gameplay of the original.Cabal - Published by Rare and MB Games (Nintendo NES)
