I work on Metalink, which offers high availability self healing (automatic error correction) downloads. Metalink is used for improved file distribution by commercial and open source organizations such as OpenOffice.org, LibreOffice, openSUSE, Ubuntu, Red Hat/Fedora, Mandriva, CERN, AT&T, UniProt Consortium, Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics, other Operating Systems, and distributors of large files. It's used to legitimately distribute software, games, music, and movies.Metalink harnesses the strengths of traditional downloads and peer to peer in a single click.
