LIVE (LGBTQ+ Inclusivity, Visibility, and Empowerment) Program Coordinators will work to empower LGBTQ+ voice in behavioral health (mental health and substance use) policy issues, ensure that their perspective is represented in policy discussions and decisions at the local and state levels, and educate behavioral health professionals and decision makers on LGBTQ+ individuals' recommendations for behavioral health systems transformation.The Program Coordinators will be responsible for co-managing relationships with 14 LLEs (Local Level Entities) that provide advocacy and behavioral health supports/services to the LGBTQ+ community across California. These 14 LLEs are split up across 5 regional #WERKgroups, with whom the Program Coordinators will engage to host advocacy events that bring together LGBTQ+ individuals, connect them to behavioral health supports and services, elevate their needs to local and statewide decision makers, and ultimately empower them to be a part of the change they want to see for their communities.

Responsible for helping Veterans connect with services that help them become more self-reliant. Advocates support with crisis assistance, setting goals, working toward self-sufficiency, connecting to services, and reintegration after military services.

Collaborated with program managers to ensure the successful delivery of training and coaching services. Led 1:1 and group meetings and developed resources to support community outings. Facilitated weekly behavioral support training along with assisting with behaviors in the field.

Provided career mentoring guidance and develop skills for job placement. Mentored with performance strategies expanding opportunities. Counseled sailors one-on-one regarding job performance/expectations while supporting career goals. Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in the medical field.

Mentored over 415 SDSU students, Academic and Career Opportunities. Facilitated workshops for 60 high school students, opportunities in continuing education. Conducted guest speaker events/Careers in PSY and opportunities for progress.

Assisted teachers in implementing individualized education plans and fostered a positive learning environment. Led activities enhancing student’s physical, emotional, and social growth expanding on self-determination. Developed strategies to meet the needs of students taking on a person-centered approach.

Assisted medical professionals in patient care, performed administrative tasks, and maintained medical records. Trained 15 office staff on proper safety procedures, policies and clinical operations. Improved and maintained office systems and equipment to expedite patient flow and productivity.

Provided medical support and assistance, delivering high-quality patient care and maintaining accurate medical records and documentation. Provided emergency medical treatment in the field and Medical Clinic. Assisted flight surgeon in special examination and treatments for naval aviators and flight personnel.
