I was engaged as a contractor to lead development of relevant updates and enhancements to the core Impendium Elements platform in order to provide additional features and expand the range of services available with a view to expanding the company's customer base.The Impendium Elements platform is a ASP.NET MVC 3/Entity Framework 4 application, with all development work carried out using C# and applying interface/design patterns. This is carried out within a Test Driven environment using TFS, continuous integration and an automatic build processes.• Successfully developed a new send process based on standard templates, creating reusable code which ensured reports could be simply configured for all clients, eradicating the necessity for new code to be created for each client. This reduced reporting effort by 100s of man hours.• Enabled clients to meet current and future legal obligations whilst accommodating trade, positional and financial data in a single environment through the development of system enhancements produced in line with changes to regulations.• Successfully implemented the GUI tool Altova MapForce which allowed the business to handle data in all relevant formats including information provided to businesses via various exchanges, which resulted in the ability to offer services to a wider range of clients.• Provided a facility to 3rd party Financial / Banking sector clients to report all relevant trades and positions in line with EMIR regulations through the development of enhancements to the core Impendium applications. The deployment of the system saw a successful reduction in calculation times from 2 days to simply a matter of minutes, whilst also revealing that calculation errors had been made within the legacy system, thus allowing key business data to be corrected.
