Independent Contractor - Construction Services
I am currently working as a independent contractor while I search for a retail sales management position with a dynamic company that is obsessed with delivering a superior customer experience. I also want to continue building and working with teams that are driven to go above and beyond expectations and wow their customers in order to forge long term relationships with them. As an independent contractor, I specialize in construction repair and remodeling, including interior and exterior painting, tile layout and installation, drywall mudding and texturing, hardwood flooring layout and installation, and plumbing and electrical repair and installation.
Customer Service Specialist
Store Manager
After earning my college degrees I decided to pursue my passion for skiing and my love of the outdoors and the mountains in Lake Tahoe. Over the past 13 years I have channeled that passion into a career in the Snow Sports Industry at a specialty retailer, Porters Sports, and its online counterpart, PortersTahoe.com. All in all, since my earliest job outside of my parents’ dairy farm I have worked in the Customer Service Industry for over 20 years. During my time at Porters I have managed three of our four bricks-and-mortar locations: currently at the Tahoe City Main Store (TC) and the Tahoe City Dam Outlet (DO), and previously at Incline Village (IV). At all three locations I increased the efficiency and functionality of the stores by improving the product merchandising and layout, improving the utilization of sales floor and back stock storage area footprints, and through low-cost renovations. I created and built unifying functional displays for ski boots, snowboard boots and bindings, and helmets that are used at the TC, IV, and Truckee retail stores. I streamlined the repair shops and rental shops of the TC and IV retail stores to improve customer throughput and experience, decrease customer wait times, and decrease payroll. I also improved equipment layout and storage that has resulted in better care of our equipment and our customers’ equipment. I enjoy creating and maintaining long-standing relationships with my customers by providing them with custom boot fitting, equipment, clothing, and accessories that fits their current and future needs. At times, giving “Raving Fans” customer service means referring them to a competitor when I don’t have something that is truly right for them. I have a desire to continue learning new aspects of the Snow Sports Industry, including business practices in general. I strive to continue improving my skills and I enjoy sharing my knowledge and experience with my customers and employees alike.
