I was employed by N6 Construction as a quality inspector for their design engineers (Atkins) on a new 56km long motorway from Galway to Ballinasloe. My main duties were signing off at specific stages of construction that all work complete to date is in accordance with drawings, specifications and NRA road construction details. The role involved all aspects of road construction, ie. Bridge construction, culvert boxes, drainage and earthworks and pavements.

Employed in 2006 to head up the new precast concrete twinwall department in Oran Precast. This entailed developing a team to carry the product from conception of project to installation. Successfully tendered for and secured projects to the value of €7.5m per annum, varying in size from c.€30k to €5.0m. Successfully implemented workflow systems with checking procedures from design through manufacture, delivery and installation. Employment of staff and sub-contractors, providing training for all. Involved in coaching and mentoring of junior engineers, CAD technicians and general operatives through Continuous Professional Development programmes and in-house training programmes.
