The Physical Science Laboratory (PSL) at NMSU is an applied research lab with capabilities in telemetry, missile systems, information systems, cybersecurity, aerospace, UAS and scientific ballooning. At PSL, I support the telemetry missile systems division in various efforts. Now 3 years in my role as a Research & Development Engineer I have been able to gain experience in varying lab and field operations. I am able to put my mechanical aptitude to work as a mechanical designer of new telemetry products as well as using experience of Finite element analysis to help determine the best design during this process. I also am blessed to work the Nasa Sounding Rocket Contract (NSROC) as the lead ground station engineer. I have supported over 20 rocket launches during my time here, as well as ran 10 as the lead. On top of that I have been able to assist in varying missile and rocket tests in the field as a support for PSL as a whole.Being able to work where you graduated from and give back to the University that gave you an opportunity to dream has been the real dream come true.
