When I was a child growing up in Philadelphia, PA, I dreamed of a career "dealing with money." And while I did pursue that path for over fifteen years in the financial services industry, I eventually learned that my true passion and calling in life was education. More specifically, I was drawn to disrupting the status quo education system and empowering young people to pursue their goals and dreams. That's why I've dedicated the past 14 years of my professional life to nonprofit management and helping Opportunity Youth succeed in secondary education, career, and leadership. As the Chief Executive Officer of YouthBuild Preparatory Academy, I'm proud to lead a team that's making a real difference in the lives of young people. And as a Faculty member at the Institute for Nonprofit Practice, I'm always looking for new ways to learn and grow. As an older "child at heart" from Providence, RI, I'm passionate about disrupting the status quo in education and empowering young people. Looking ahead, I'm excited about exploring new avenues for creating positive change in the world, particularly in policy work. I'm also eager to share my knowledge and experience through writing and teaching emerging leaders. And, of course, I love connecting with like-minded change agents over coffee. So if you're interested in working with a dynamic, passionate leader who's committed to making a difference, let's connect and see what we can achieve together.
