Hello!My name is Anthony Gonzalez and I am a rising sophomore at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I am currently majoring in Civil Engineering and I plan on pursuing a dual degree in Entrepreneurship starting in Fall 2024. I am currently an intern for the U.S Army Corps of Engineers in their Chicago District. I am gaining valuable experience as what the day-to-day tasks look like for a Project Engineer.I am heavily involved with the Hispanic Scholarship Fund, as they are responsible for my success leading up to college. I attended the Youth Leadership Institute (YLI) at UChicago in 2022 where I attained valuable information about the college admission process, spoke to current college students, and gained confidence for my senior year of high school. This is why I chose to come back as a mentor in 2024 for the same program in order to give back to an organization that has assisted me so much. I will be attending the National Leadership Conference(NLC) with HSF in August.
