As part of a project funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to improve the efficiency of a number of value chains in sub-saharan Africa I was hired to create an Industry Strategic Plan for the mushroom value chain in Zambia.

The Payment Operations team is responsible for all of the operational processes and projects which come from being connected to various payment schemes, payment partners, and card suppliers. The team was 12 people when I left it and consisted of a mix of function leads, analysts, and project managers.

I started at Monzo when the company was around 50 employees, to come in and manage operational scaling projects. My initial scope was to build out a card operations function from the ground up.
