Began working in 2010 as an accounts receivable specialist and was advanced to tax specialist after a year. In August of 2015, I was promoted to department supervisor. In that time, I accumulated the following experience:- Supervise and direct payroll tax team responsible for remitting and reporting payroll taxes at Federal, state, and city levels. - Responsible for preparation, filing, and recipient distribution of over 140,000 tax statements (Form W-2's, Form 1099-Misc's, and other state specific tax statements).- Ability to research, interpret, and implement payroll law.- Answer employee questions regarding Form W-2, Form 1099-Misc, and payroll deductions.- Identify payroll tax and wage discrepancies.- Knowledge of IRS tax treaty implementation, including Form W-8BEN and Form W-8BEN-E.- Respond and resolve tax agency notices. - Understanding of employer business registration requirements with regards to payroll taxes.- File payroll tax return amendments as needed and follow up on overpaid tax amounts.- Prepare journal entries and understanding of basic accounting.- Submit new hire reporting on a semi-monthly basis.- Prepare employee evaluations on an annual basis.
