Leading Health and Safety (HS) initiatives, OSHA and NIOSH Compliance, and Workers' Compensation programs for 4(four) manufacturing facilities and 2 (two) distribution centers located in MS, MO, and IN.

Responsible for implement and maintaining all corporate Safety and Health programs. Investigation of all near misses, first aid cases, recordable cases, lost day injuries. Assist the Fleet Safety Regional Manager in the investigation of vehicular accidents. Track injury trends and develop action plans to address identified accident trends. Keep the management team informed of any safety and health related issues and/or concerns. Interact daily with the Occupational Health Nurse(s) in a way that builds a team atmosphere within the safety and medical areas of the site. Conduct periodic safety and health audits and track findings to ensure closure. Provide the Corporate Safety Office with the site’s monthly safety performance numbers. Actively involved in the site’s Workers’ Compensation program. Provide training support to the organization and ensure that all required monthly training is completed as scheduled. Manage security force in a fashion that protects site employees, visitors, contractors, and property and assets. Site’s liaison when outside agencies come on-site to conduct annual assessments (i.e., insurance carrier, local fire department, OSHA, EPA, etc.) Generate, manage and monitor the safety departmental budget by evaluate ways of saving costs associated with training, travel, as well as personal protective equipment. Site’s liaison with the Property Insurance Company to provide closure to open recommendations in addition to working with company’s Engineering Construction Department to ensure all new construction meets FM Global specifications. Involved with local medical community in a fashion that all medical vendors understand the company’s philosophy on OSHA recordkeeping and return to work programs.

Directed all Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) activities for four manufacturing facilities in MS and NC and one manufacturing facility in Monterrey, Mexico.Responsibilities include:Develop, write, coordinated, and/or oversaw all EHS regulatory compliance and training programs for the company. Head IT's workers' compensation division, where I oversee all costs, and work with brokers, insurers, and other risk prevention specialists in securing services. Develop and implement loss prevention programs to prevent injuries/losses and assure effective corrective action plans were put in place when they do occur. Assured environmental programs and permits are managed and maintained accordingly. Lead fire prevention efforts to reduce or eliminate real or potential threats that could affect life and/or property. Record and maintain statistics involving, experience modifiers, incident, and DART rates, and provided comprehensive reporting to executives. Travel to various company locations to perform compliance audits and conduct specialty services.

Responsible for planning, budgeting, developing, overseeing, and reporting of assigned projects to assure that the scope and direction of each project remain on target and on schedule. Assists clients in assessing and identifying real or potential risk that may hinder the reputation, safety, security and financial prosperity of their organization and further promote, advise, and/or develop risk reduction programs that facilitate activities tohelp ensure that clients are prepared to deal with potential risks. Conduct and develop safety training, develop safety programs, and conduct industrial hygiene analysis.

Directed all Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) activities for five (food) manufacturing facilities and three warehouses located in MS, IA, IN, VT and NJ, were I supervise a staff of five EHS Coordinators and one Compliance Auditor. Responsibilities include:Developed, Wrote, Coordinated, and/or oversaw all EHS regulatory compliance and training programs for the company.Headed Plumrose’s workers' compensation division, where I oversee all cost and premium renewals. Worked with brokers, insurers, and other risk prevention specialists in securing services.Developed and implemented loss prevention programs to prevent injuries/losses and assure effective corrective action plans were put in place when they do occur.Assured environmental programs and permits (SPCC, SWPPP, Air, Wastewater, Potable Water) were managed and maintained accordingly.Oversee Process Safety Management and Risk Management Programs for all applicable facilities.Headed fire prevention efforts to reduce or eliminate real or potential threats that could affect life and/or property.Oversaw the company’s 6S program to reduce waste and drive Lean / Six Sigma Initiatives.Recorded and maintain statistics involving, experience modifiers, incident, and DART rates, and provided comprehensive reporting to executives.Traveled to various company locations 2-4 weeks each month to work with ESH coordinators, perform compliance audits, and conduct specialty services.

Oversaw the health, safety, and environmental activities for three manufacturing facilities and three warehouses and five manufacturing facilities and helped advise other company locations concerning workers’ compensation law and OSHA regulations. Specific Responsibilities:Cared for injured or ill employees and manage all aspects of workers' compensation at the plants under my jurisdiction. This included managing injured employee health care, communicating with and assisting insurance companies, monitoring reserve rates, and working through litigated issues. Responsible for writing and facilitating all OSHA-required written plans and procedures, conducting required training, and maintaining records. Maintained records for Hazardous Waste Storage/Shipment and Secondary Containment areas, participated in periodic EPA inspections and assisted in maintaining permits for storm water and wastewater. Coordinated a comprehensive safety program that incorporated the 5-Phase problem-solving process and 5-S LEAN tools. Provided periodic feedback to management associated with injuries and cost.
