I coordinate and manage a team of volunteers at weekends to help people in New York prepare and file their federal and state tax returns for free as part of the IRS VITA program in partnership with New York Cares. I use tax software to prepare and file federal and state returns for clients and I offer tax and financial advice to help educate people about money and the way the tax system works. One of my main roles as a team leader is to quality review tax returns prepared by other the volunteers to ensure accuracy. I file approximately 60 returns per tax season.
