Duties• Production of monthly management accounts. • Reviewing monthly forecasts with 40 budget holders, each with approximately 35 projects.• Preparation of quarterly reports, for Defra and the devolved administrations.• Preparation of the monthly draw downs for Defra and the devolved administrations.• Production of annual phased budgets in conjunction with budget holders.• Maintenance of finance systems, including upgrade testing and software installation.• Training of finance and non finance staff on finance systems.• Responsible for developing and training the assistant management accountant.Achievements• Selection and implementation of a new finance system (Access Dimensions).• Implementation of an integrated asset management system.• Phased rollout of a web based front end (Focalpoint) for the finance system, for non finance staff. Project Accountant (Finance systems)Duties• Implementation and testing new systems and procedures for the finance department.• Creation of manuals for all finance procedures.• Training finance and non finance staff on the finance systems.• Maintenance of finance systems, making amendments to the chart of accounts, posting rules and triggers.• Creating and maintaining interfaces between finance systems.• Writing reports for the finance team, internal audit and department heads.Achievements• Implemented an electronic invoice authorisation system, with OCR Scanning.• Design and implemented a Purchase order system.• Testing of three separate system upgrades for Agresso.Accounts Office Manager Duties• Responsibility for the day to day running of the finance and admin functions of three garages with a turnover of £34m.• Management of 6 staff members over the 3 sites.• Production of detailed vehicle analysis and reconciliation.• Control of aged debtors and creditors.• Bank reconciliations.Achievements• Building contacts with the insurance companies to create a understanding of their information requirements.• reduction of debtors from £419k to £265k• Daily contact with suppliers and customers.Assistant Management Accountant (Motor Division)Duties• Production of monthly management accounts for the motor division.• Monthly meetings with the division heads to review the accounts.• Creation of budgets with department heads.• Completion of all motor balance sheet reconciliations.• Reconciliation of inter-company accounts.• Production of composite reports for the Manufactures for each franchise.• Preparation of weekly trading results (for all divisions) for the Co-operative group.• Ensuring that the Kerridge is updated for new makes and models.• Completing the National statistic return.• Being main contact with auditors for the Motor division.• Take lead on all stock takes.
