I am a member of the Transportation Research Board (www.trb.org) Resource Conservation and Recovery Committee (ADC60).I am also a member of our Environmental Management Systems subcommittee. We plan an annual summer workshop, sponsor sessions at the Annual TRB meeting in D.C., review papers, and propose research ideas. Project Manager for FTA’s ISO 14001 based Environmental and Sustainability Management Systems (ESMS) Training and Technical Assistance program for transit agencies. April 2014 the program was awarded a U.S. DOT Secretary of Transportation’s Sustainability award.• Develop and implement agency policies and guidance related to the assessment and mitigation of environmental and community impacts of transportation projects in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and other environmental related projects. Provide NEPA related assistance and guidance to regional staff. Subject matter point of contact for brownfields and contaminated properties and noise and vibration related impacts. • Contracting Officer Representative for contracts and funds: • Presented and coordinated panel sessions at numerous conferences (APTA annual and sustainability workshop and TRB Annual and summer workshops) on the EMS program. Presented at FTA’s real estate workshops on brownfields and contaminated properties.

Provided various services as an Environmental Professional, including Phase I Environmental Assessments, GIS support, and sustainability work.

Project manager for the downstate Brownfields Opportunity Area (BOA) grant program office. Provided program assistance to existing grantees (local municipalities on Long Island and community and planning based organizations throughout the five boroughs of New York City) and provided assistance on incorporating Smart Growth and Transit Oriented Development Practices into grantee redevelopment plans. Responsible for coordinating all grant projects in Long Island and some in NYC. Performed outreach activities with officials of cities, villages, towns, counties, local public authorities, local development corporations, and community groups.

Lead GIS coordinator for NY office and support to NJ office. GIS work included data collection, database manipulation, data analysis and interpolation and map generation. Complex graphics creation and manipulation using Adobe Illustrator, surfer, GIS, and AutoCAD. Set-up and ran groundwater models using ModFlow. Performed field work, as field team leader and sampler, including site mobilization, team coordination, scheduling, low-flow groundwater sampling, field analysis and soil sample prep for analysis. Researched ways that this land development company could incorporate environmentally sustainable practices into their planning and development designs such as: storm water management, greening possibilities, and alternative transportation. Researched financial incentives for brownfield redevelopment and other environmental initiatives. Initiated LEED certification.

Researched and created a GIS application to identify appropriate storm water retrofits in an urban creek watershed for the City's storm water division. The application was created to aid watershed planning and non-point source pollution abatement efforts by the City of Durham.
