I was gifted with the wonderful opportunity to work in collaboration with the Multicap organisation. Multicap are a not-for-profit organisation dedicated in supporting individuals of all ages living with any physical or cognitive disability. Multicap are a not-for-profit organisation dedicated in supporting individuals of all ages living with any physical or cognitive disability. Multicap has many social enterprise businesses that provide employment for people living with any disability. The leading enterprise Multicap has created is named Makeables. Makeables has 2 main factories which focus on the assembly, packing, and finishing various products. All the work within these factories is predominantly completed by the disabled indivuals. Within a team of 5 we were given the task of creating greater outreach for Multicap. My team designed a simple but effective program named Multicap open day which focuses on displaying and acknowledging the work completed by all the individuals at Makeables and other Multicap enterprises.This course was over a brief intense 3 day course. In this time my team went through ideation, prototyping and to finally designing the final solution. Since Makeables is a non for-profit organisation it was a more personal experience as it was about helping people and not assisting a business make money. This project embodies the ideology of designing for good. I truly hope and aspire to be a part of another project similar to this.
