As a molecular analytics lead, my roles are to-• Lead RiceTec’s rice crop global Molecular Analytics program providing strategic, technical, and analytical support for genome, gene and trait discovery & development.• Leverage internal and externally available gene, genomics, germplasm insights to effectively design and produce the successful rice seed products that meet the challenges of the future. • Contribute directly to identifying trait target prospects, mine and understand genetic variance, identify functional genes, develop selectable markers.• Conduct trait assay development and validation for selection of target genes. • Provide technical direction and support for optimized markers selection implementations for different breeding and product development implementations. • Manage RiceTec's global genomic and high-density fingerprinting databases, WGS and other sequencing or genotyping projects, vendor relations, data management and handling, analysis and utilization.• Managing RiceTec global traits analytics database. • Collaborate and provide technical support to genotyping Lab, global Breeding, Product Development, Trait Discovery/Development and Regulatory/IP groups with all molecular data needs. • Partner with Product and Pipeline management and Line/Product Developers to coordinate initiation, review, and handoff of finished converted products.

As an aspiring plant geneticist, I use my expertise and experience in phenotyping, genotyping, and genomics-based analyses (GWAS and Meta-QTLs) of big rice collections and various rice populations for drought and heat stresses in the greenhouse and field conditions. I contribute to grant writing, train graduate students, help the graduate students with their dissertations-related activities. I am also developing a mapping population for abiotic stresses (drought and heat) tolerance and high grain yield.

I used my expertise in abiotic stresses screening (drought and heat) of a big collection of rice genotypes for plant physiology, rice quality, and grain yield. Also, I completed statistical genomics analysis of big genomics dataset for genome-wide association analysis for rice physiology and grain yield in greenhouses and field experiments.

As an aspiring rice geneticist, I screened USDA mini Core collection of 221 rice genotypes for water use efficiency, drought resistance and grain yield in greenhouses and field conditions. Also, I analyzed a correlation between water use efficiency and grain yield under drought stress under greenhouse and field conditions. Moreover, I developed a database for meta-QTL analysis of 1200 drought-related QTLs from 2000 to 2015 research studies in rice worldwide. I used my genomics expertise to conduct genome-wide association analysis for water use efficiency and drought resistance traits in rice.

I worked on several mapping populations (F2, BC lines, hybrid lines) for introgression of bacterial leaf blight disease resistant genes using marker-assisted selection (MAS). I contributed to help several graduate students for their research work and dissertation writing activities. I assisted my principal investigator (PI) to write grant proposals and reports & proposals for several basmati rice varieties development.

I developed mapping population for blast disease resistance in rice based on foreground and background selection using molecular markers. We did DNA fingerprinting of several rice genotypes and own developed basmati rice varieties using SSR and Inter-SSR markers.
