The NATAA is Navy’s premier establishment for acceptance of warships & submarines, which are being built across shipyards in the country, for induction into the Navy. During the tenure, spearheaded acceptance trials of three major warships which were being constructed at MDL, Mumbai and GRSE Kolkata, managed through 3 different verticals, each having a team of ~20 professionals.

Role covered mission planning, operations at sea to meet the mission objectives, ensuring 24x7 equipment availability & readiness including resource planning, optimization, maintenance planning & equipment upkeep, etc.

Broad areas of responsibilities involved strategic (5-year plan) and operational planning of Naval assets namely, Ships, Submarines and repair support infrastructure, to meet the requirements for Nation's western seaboard; Modernization & repair planning of ships and submarines; Oversee critical infrastructure projects including the budgets for Western Naval Command such as, Dry-docks, ship lifts, repair centers, jetties, etc.,

Various responsibilities during this period:- Squadron Engineer Officer: Engineering head of 1241 RE squadron consisting of ~ 12 ships.- Chief Engineer, Indian Naval Ship: Engineering head of the ship, responsible for operational readiness of the ship to meet mission requirements.- Deputy Manager, Ship Repair Division: Led hybrid team highly motivated and skilled civilian and uniformed taskforce responsible for tactical repairs of ships equipment’s and systems. The mobile taskforce could be deployed anywhere in the western coast at a short notice, for quick repairs through innovative techniques and ensure faster turnaround of Naval assets for redeployment at Sea. - Officer in Charge/ Gas Turbine Training Centre and Machinery Complex: Responsible for providing advance training on operations and maintenance of Gas Turbine engines as part of Post Graduate training to the Officers and Diploma training to the Naval Sailors. In additional was also head of Machine shop with over 200 lathe machines, welding & factory equipment including a foundry, which was used for providing practical training to be able build simple machinery sparepart in the Ships' workshop while at sea.
