Living extensively in both Bangladesh and the United States, I have acquired broad cross-cultural knowledge along with the business skills necessary to boost operational effectiveness, as needed by international not-for-profit organizations. My involvement in such work began in Bangladesh, where my grandfather founded an NGO that operates numerous orphanages, schools, health clinics, and community businesses. My grandfather’s work inspired me to continue his vision of supporting those less fortunate through sustainable development practices. As such, I pursued an academic career to acquire practical skills,--such as marketing and management. I hold a BS in Technical Resource Management with a minor in Management from Southern Illinois University.My education and the pursuit of my grandfather’s vision has taught me to proficiently and ethically guide an international organization that provides for more than 2,000 Bangladeshi children and operates numerous businesses in eight different cities and villages across Bangladesh. To compliment my experience working in this organization in Bangladesh, I have had the opportunity to work with the U.S. extension of our Bangladeshi organization on numerous local projects, including community outreach projects and fund raising events. My education and first-hand experience has prepared me to successful manage business operations and fine-tune strategic planning to communicate a not-for-profit’s long-term vision globally.
