As the Head of Film and Photo at WoW Studios, Whirlpool’s newly formed in-house agency and production studio, I managed a team of directors, photographers, and content creators delivering video and photography assets supporting the advertising and sales for all of Whirlpool’s brands including Whirlpool, KitchenAid, Maytag, Amana and Jennaire.Leveraging my 30+ years of production expertise I helped my team elevate the quality of video and photographic assets through mentorship, guidance, and leadership. I worked closely with creative directors to set creative production standards for key brands Kitchenaid and Whirlpool by developing and refining an approach to the visual communication, messaging effectiveness and emotional appeal. I also partnered cross-functionally to further drive quality and efficiency improvements by: 1) standardizing film and video specifications for production to post production workflow; 2) working with creative department Senior Managers to identify gaps in creative to production handoffs; 3) improving ways of working through standardizing scripts, director’s treatments and shooting boards; 4) developing a production process using industry standards customized to Whirlpool’s unique needs; 5) supporting and championing collaboration between production, creatives, and brand managers.The improvements in the quality of video and photographic assets were lauded across the organization as we shortened production timelines from 6 months on average down to 6 weeks on average.

In 2009, my partner and I launched a multi-disciplinary, boutique creative agency powered by a nimble team. We developed a strategic approach to creative work rooted in the connection between the consumer’s desires and what a brand delivers.As the leader of creative and production at Popskull, I drove achievements like these for dozens of startups and national brands:SkinnyPop Popcorn - Within one year, created over 37 million social media impressions (33% organic) and accumulated over 500,000 video views, culminating in a successful private equity exit for the founders and a successful IPO for the PE firm.Stolen Spirits - Guided social and AdWords content and management, increasing fan acquisition by 85.7%, driving over 10MM impressions and 104,000 engagements through a mix of curated and original content. Tramontina - Led the creative development and production of a Google display ad and YouTube pre-roll campaign resulting in 39.2% view-completion, 48.1% brand awareness and 90.5% purchase consideration rates.Lyft - Managed the design and promotion of Five Star Lager, a Lyft branded beer from Baderbräu, which earned millions of media impressions including favorable mentions on thedieline.com.

At Ogilvy I led and executed all national, international and cross-media production for Glade and Scrubbing Bubbles.Produced spots and content for S.C. Johnson, CDW, UPS, Kimberly-Clark and Grainger.Lead the production of video content for multiple new business pitches.Assisted the Chief Production Officer in developing and deploying a cost-effective in-house post-production rate card for S.C. I produced national and international commercials and web content for S.C. Johnson, Dow Chemical and Coors Light. I led the production of the Dow Chemical longform content, shooting across multiple continents on a “content” budget.

I worked on General Motors, and produced the award-winning Only GM campaign. I produced additional automotive work for Buick, Saab, Prestone and FRAM. Utilizing my skills and experience as a filmmaker, I concepted, produced and directed a web series called Studio Stories, focused on concept cars and key GM technologies. I also produced the launch of the award-winning Travel Michigan campaign.

I began my advertising career producing television and radio for Sears, Ameritrade, Kotex, Dove, the Chicago Wolves, and other clients. My first solo production was the Dove Hair launch campaign; I managed a 14 spot package in three languages, casting ninety real people across the US and Canada, and shooting in New York, Los Angeles, and Toronto. I received a 2004 AICP Show Award for Dove 'Roses'.

I brought the visions of Steppenwolf’s various scenic designers for award-winning productions such as the Song of Jacob Zulu and A Slip of The Tongue to life. I learned and honed skills in carpentry, construction, metalwork, prop-making, and installation while fostering the work ethic that would carry through my career.
