Global Head Of Safeguarding
CurrentResponsibilities:• To ensure that the organisation is compliant with all aspects of relevant Safeguarding standards within the sector• To oversee and direct effective Safeguarding induction and training for staff, representatives and partners• To manage Safeguarding policy updates, staff training and independent safeguarding audits, working with the Director of Legal, Governance and Assurance to ensure best practice across the organisation• To monitor and evaluate the impact of all safeguarding policies, procedures and initiatives on the culture of the organisation• As Safeguarding Lead, to manage allegations and concerns globally • To foster effective working relations with donors and stakeholders working to improve safeguarding in our sector and beyond• To prepare regular safeguarding reports for the CEO, Audit committees and Board of Trustees• To prepare and communicate regular updates to all stakeholders, particularly on open incidents• To ensure safeguarding information for all donors and the Charity Commission is up to dateAchievements:• Developed, trained and lead a global network of over thirty safeguarding leads• Built an incident management system for safeguarding concerns and maintained meticulous incident records• Updated the organisational safeguarding policy to include protections for at risk adults, replacing the previous child safeguarding policy• Led the creation of a process for managing safeguarding updates and training for the Global Board of Trustees. Worked closely with the safeguarding lead on the Board, to monitor and review all active incidents and policy changes• Worked closely with the HR Operations team to ensure the Safer Recruitment procedures for staff and consultants are adhered to and comply with the latest regulations and requirements• Co-chaired the IDDC Inclusive Safeguarding working group to identify and lead on opportunities to promote disability inclusive safeguarding approaches
