I have over 18 years’ experience in statutory, private and NHS counselling, I have extensive understanding of individual personal needs. My private practice can be face to face or online depending on where clients are. I offer clinical supervision, debriefs and one to one therapy. I work for the complex adult mental health psychology team at Devon partnership trust as principal psychotherapist on an acute inpatient ward as well as in the community. I provide one to one therapy, complex assessments, groups, reflective practice, supervision and debriefs. I worked in a specialist sexual violent trauma service within King’s College Hospital for over 10 years as a senior psychotherapist, providing management, supervision, service development as well as carrying a case load. Prior to this I have worked in the addictions field across private rehab facilities and charity services. I hold graduate and post graduate qualifications in psychological therapy and maintain a high calibre of continued professional development to maintain the best possible training to allow you the best possible up-to-date treatment. I have worked in a wide range of settings however, my areas of speciality are sexual violence, addiction and pregnancy and fertility trauma. I work with dissociative disorders and trauma related psychological injury. I also specialise in working with medical professionals, understanding the specific needs of medics and how burn out, companion fatigue and vicarious trauma can occur. I am part of the front line buddy program delivering training within the NHS around managing challenging environments and improving culture. I’m an accredited registered member of BACP; I follow the BACP ethical framework and adhere to confidentiality and work in an effective non-judgmental setting.I have previously held a regular lecture slot on a national forensic sexual assault examiners course and have presented internationally in South Africa and Sweden on the work I have done within the sexual violence field within the NHS. I have provided training to medics in my role for Vita a network providing training and advocacy for those working with victims of human trafficking or modern slavery. I have provided training to charities and third sector organisations on trauma informed practice, working with suicidal people and sexual violence disclosures. I take referrals from psychiatrists or external agencies as well as Insurence companies and self referrals.
