About Alison Partridge
Are there still barriers to the success of women, underserved and marginalised communities in the digital economy?Short answer: YES.That’s why the work I do puts impact first.I’m not a natural “techie”, yet for the last 35+ years, I’ve dedicated my life to reshaping local digital economies to be more inclusive. It all started in 1992 when I took that first step into economic development & entrepreneurship. What struck me was the glaring lack of inclusion and diversity in the entrepreneurship and startup ecosystem. Since then I’ve helped:→ Drive conversation and change around the diversity in tech agenda→ Explore potential solutions to common problems and share experiences→ Take on politically sensitive and high-level roles to generate positive impact→ 100+ cities and towns across the UK, EU & Africa to create inclusive economies → Connect under-estimated and underrepresented communities with opportunities In 2018 I founded (and now co-lead) OneTech with the support of the members at Capital Enterprise. We’re committed to genuinely changing the face of start-ups from the inside out. My multifaceted, robust and well-informed (yet deeply personal) approach is designed to:→ Share the knowledge to make a difference to communities through strong, strategic led vision → Thrive through building strategic partnerships, initiating projects, raising funds, providing training, and facilitating meetings→ Foster inclusive enterprise, entrepreneurship, and economic developmentTo inspire a new wave in the startup ecosystem that is diverse, inclusive and sustainable – that begins with us.Yes, there are still barriers to overcome. And we want you to be part of the conversation. When I’m not “having meetings & sending emails” (as my children used to say).... I’m Instructing or practicing yoga, reading, eating great food, walking my dogs, or spending time with my husband, friends, family & 2 (now rather grown-up) feminist daughters who are out there changing the world! Curious to know how you can make an impact? Let’s connect!
