Law-trained equity-oriented problem solver with a proven track record of developing, executing, and managing social justice programming and projects from conception to delivery in a variety of stakeholder contexts. Passionate and ambitious about orchestrating cross-organizational planning and uniting company culture with a strategic vision around diversity and inclusion. Legal ExperienceAs a law student, she worked in criminal and civil law. At PSU Student Legal Services, she learned to explain legal issues to members of a diverse student body. In the summer of 2020, she transitioned to criminal defense and took her first case to trial as a Certified Law Student in Clackamas County, Oregon. During her final semester, she was fortunate enough to clerk at Richardson Wang, (formerly Richardson Wright). There, she learned how a well-structured and community-centered firm functions, and how hard litigators work for their clients. Amanda then went to the Multnomah County Courthouse where she clerked under Presiding Judges Bushong and Matarazzo. Since she left the court she has been building her Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion consulting network while also learning how to operate a law practice. LeadershipShe served as the President of the Student Bar Association after serving as the VP of Diversity & Inclusion and first-year Pod Representative. From November 2018 - January 2021, Amanda also served as President of the National Asian Pacific American Law Students Association (NAPALSA) which hosted a student conference annually at the National Asian Pacific Bar Association (NAPABA) Convention.She is the founder of one nonprofit and on the board of a second, both of which emphasize educational opportunities for kids from disenfranchised communities. Public SpeakingAmanda frequently is invited to speak about the importance of holistic self-care, de-stigmatizing mental health within the legal community, and prioritizing equity in legal education and practice. She regularly presents on topics surrounding implicit bias, disability as a diversity issue, and racism in the workplace. A student of the world, Amanda is always looking for new ways to connect compassionately and proactively in an ever-changing world. Amanda is passionate about recentering human-first decision-making that prioritizes inclusivity, empathy, and empowerment - all of which strengthen the quality of our community.
