They say it only takes few seconds to make a good first impression, so I don't have a moment to lose. I am an up-beat, energetic person who is also hard-working, well-educated & resourceful. After years in the ski industry, I found my passion for winemaking which has led me on the adventure of a lifetime. Over the last few years, I've had wonderful opportunities to play with wine. From blending and barrel management at a négociant/éleveur style start-up, to an urban winery producing sustainable canned & kegged wines, all the way up to a bulk winery, crushing well over 100 tonnes of grapes each vintage. I've gotten lost in vineyards all over the world as well. From the boutique, backyard vines in California, to the hills of Missouri (home of the Phylloxera resistant hybrid). From university and research vineyards, to some of the oldest, most iconic vineyards in South Australia.They say, "If you want great wine, start with great grapes," but a bit of curiosity and exploration can make it more fun. My mentality tends toward creative, hands-on winemaking and integrated involvement with the vineyards, focusing on more natural & sustainable techniques, all while striving to make the best wine possible.
