As an independent contractor for InStil Consulting I perform an array of office manager duties from accounting, billing, and updating training materials. I coordinate large training events to include logistics, training materials, and registration/completion. InStil Consulting provides state-mandated certification courses to counselors, psychologists, and employees of the Department of Corrections around Colorado that provide D.U.I. counseling, Driving With Care classes, and Interlock Enhancement Counseling. The trainings provided by InStil Consulting are vital to any counseling center that accepts clients with D.U.I. convictions and mandatory D.U.I. classes.

As an Office Manager for Center for Change counseling services I was in charge of all office operations. This position entailed maintaining HIPPA-sensitive client files, accounting, billing/collections, customer acquisition, procurement, data management, managing calendars for 12 therapists simultaneously, and customer service to a unique customer base. This position required very strong communication skills to be able to manage conversations with customers being challenged with mental/personality disorders and addictions, parole/probation officers, judicial system personnel, and insurance companies alike. I also became familiar with several of the Department of Corrections software programs inputting case file information for clients that required tracking by the Department of Corrections. Working for Center for Change exposed me to new leadership challenges, styles, and approaches because of the unique nature of the clientele. I enjoyed my experience and learned a great deal about management and communication in this position.

While in the Marine Corps I was fortunate to wear many different hats and gain more leadership and management expertise than I ever imagined. I was active duty for nine years and made it to the rank of Staff Sergeant (E-6) as an Administrative Specialist/Administrative Chief. I served as a Legal Chief, Drill Instructor School Administrative Chief, and Suicide Prevention Trainer among many other billets. During my time I fell in love with leadership and developing my Marines to become more successful Marines and people. I enjoyed watching my team grow, overcome challenges together, and charging them with the authority to make decisions that were aligned with the unit mission and the Marine Corps core values. I particularly enjoyed leading Marines to become more autonomous and confident in their own leadership capabilities. Technical proficiencies include data management/analysis, training & development, project management, large event coordination, office management, HR functions, performance reviews, compensation, operation logistics, mail room management, unit legal chief, as well as several other duties as it pertains to office management.
