I am currently serving a growth gig as US Medical Director Surgicals and still maintaining my role as field medical director at Pfizer in gastroenterology and inflammation. Prior to that, I was an inpatient clinical pharmacist and associate professor of pharmacy practice for over 10 years at Creighton University School of Pharmacy and CHI Immanuel Medical Center. My clinical practice specialty area was obesity and bariatric, orthopedic, and general surgery as well as general internal medicine and gastroenterology. I was a long standing member of the American Society of Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) and have severed on several committees within the organization including the Integrated Health Executive Committee, Quality & Patient Safety, and Clinical Issues and Guidelines. I have given several national podium presentations as well as published on pharmacokinetic challenges after bariatric surgery, perioperative management of chronic diseases post-bariatric surgery, enhanced recovery after bariatric surgery, and discharge opioid prescribing after surgery. I am a previous member of the American College of Surgeons and co-led two national quality improvement initiatives invoking multi organization execution of new surgical protocols in bariatric surgery. I am also a longstanding member of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy and have served as Chair of the GI/Liver/Nutrition Practice & Research Network (PRN) and was also highly involved in the Perioperative Care PRN. My academic teaching areas included obesity, gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary disorders as well as inpatient anticoagulation and solid organ transplant. I have a passion for treatment of obesity, teaching, training, and content creation as well as medical strategic planning and execution.
